Sprowston Hall was first erected in the 16th century by the Corbet family, and over the next few centuries it went through the possession of several different families. During World War II, the GOC Eastern Command commandeered the hall for military use, and, in 1973, the manor went through significant renovations. These involved converting the manor into a hotel and resort – part of the 170-acre surrounding park was also converted into a championship golf course.

As you drive down the tree-lined entrance to Sprowston Manor, it feels like you are hundreds of miles from urban life. However, the resort of is only 3 1/2 miles from Norwich City Centre and 15 minutes from Norwich International Airport. The three-storey red brick house has a number of rooms that make ideal wedding ceremony and reception halls, and the outdoor grounds allow you to expand your reception for more guests should the need arise. The event-staff are experts in managing weddings and other special days, which is one of the reasons why the hotel has received such rave reviews since becoming a resort over 40 years ago.
