Notley Abbey Wedding Venue in Buckinghamshire

Notley Abbey Wedding Venue in Buckinghamshire

Notley Abbey was founded in the 1100s in Long Crendon to house Augustinian monks. Such famed figures as King Henry V visited the abbey, and such celebrities as Vivien Leigh and Sir Laurence Olivier have been among the owners. Notley Abbey was among the richest and largest Augustinian monasteries in all of Oxford. King Henry VIII dissolved the abbey in 1538, and the buildings turned into a farm in 1730. Today, Bijou Wedding Venues owns the property and hosts weddings on site.

The Monks’ Refectory is one of the more popular ceremony venues on site, with stonework and exposed beams giving the room the feel of a barn that is centuries old. The beauty of the surrounding acreage gives you a number of backdrops for a reception to celebrate the new couple, and the venue as a whole can accommodate weddings with as many as 190 guests, giving you a great deal of flexibility as you plan your special day.
