Creeksea Place Wedding Venue in Essex

Creeksea Palace is close by the town of Burnham-on-Crouch, in rural Essex. Dating back to 1569, the estate still has the original walled garden and orchard, which served as the filming locale for an adaptation of Great Expectations by the BBC. Originally, the castle consisted of at least three wings, but the southern part of the house was taken apart and sold, so only the west wing, the north range and the outer courtyard remained. This palace was alleged to have housed Anne Boleyn, and her spirit is occasionally seen walking near an old house by the Creeksea ferry.

Having a wedding at Creeksea gives you a number of attractive options. Six different settings are licensed for weddings, including the marble pergola in the orchard and the walled garden. The walled garden also can house a reception, or if the weather permits, an open-air reception on the lawn can be breath-taking. At night, candles, torches and spotlights illuminate the entire grounds, giving a wedding a truly magical feel.
