Spains Hall Wedding Venue in Essex

Spains Hall Wedding Venue in Essex

Spains Hall is a grand Elizabethan country house in Essex, near Finchingfield. It takes its name from Hervey de Ispania, who owned the property when the Domesday Book was written in 1086. The current house was built around 1570, and the landscaped park around the manor dates to back to 1807. It was during this time that the fish ponds were introduced as ornamental, aquatic features, and closer to the house sits a walled garden, a formal garden and even the remains of an ancient moat.

Sitting right on the border of Cambridge and Essex, Spains Hall is just 45 minutes from London, combining the beauty of grounds that are more than 1000 years old with modern facilities and amenities. The venue is indoors, meaning it is available year-round, and you are not at the mercy of the weather, stuck in a marquee, as is the case with other venues. Log fires in the Hall and subfloor heating in The Stables keep you and your guests comfortable all year long. Many clients have their weddings at one of the nearby parish churches and then head to the Hall for the reception, although the Hall is also licenced for civil ceremonies.
